Getting help is not easy and often feels impossible to fit in…

Between appointments, work, caregiving, and everyone else’s needs, your own healing can keep getting pushed aside. Even finding the words for what you’ve been through can feel exhausting.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You don’t need to decide whether your experience was “traumatic enough.” If it is still affecting you, it deserves care.

Together, we can make space for what happened, what you’re carrying now, and what you need to move forward.

Support for the experiences that stay with you

I work with people navigating the emotional impact of:

  • Infertility, IVF, and other fertility treatments

  • High-risk pregnancy, complications, or hospitalization

  • Difficult or frightening births, including emergency interventions

  • Feeling dismissed, unsupported, or powerless during medical care

  • NICU stays, separation from your baby, or concerns about your baby’s health

  • Pregnancy loss and grief

  • Postpartum experiences that felt frightening, isolating, or overwhelming

  • Earlier trauma that resurfaces during pregnancy or parenthood

Your experience may be recent, or it may have happened years ago. You are welcome to seek support wherever you are in your healing.

EMDR Groups for Maternal Trauma

Sometimes healing also means being around people who understand that these experiences can stay with you.

This structured group uses GTEP—the EMDR Group Traumatic Episode Protocol—to help participants work with distress connected to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences, including high-risk pregnancy.

Unlike an open-ended discussion group, GTEP follows a guided process that includes grounding, a structured worksheet, and self-administered bilateral stimulation, such as alternating taps.

You do not have to share the details of your experience with the group. Much of the work happens privately on your own worksheet, with guidance and support from the facilitator.

The group offers space to care for yourself alongside others who are also making room for healing.

What to expect

  • A guided, structured process with clear instructions

  • Grounding and resources to support you during the session

  • Opportunities to work privately with your own experience

  • Choice about what you share with others

  • A brief intake before participation to discuss your needs and whether the group is a good fit

You’ve made room for so much. There can be room for you, too.

Individual Therapy - space for your story, at your pace

Individual therapy offers a private space to explore your experience without having to minimize it, explain it away, or take care of someone else’s feelings.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and attentive to the connection between your experiences, emotions, and body. We’ll work together to understand what feels most difficult and build support around your needs.

When appropriate, we can incorporate EMDR—Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing—to work with distressing memories and the feelings or beliefs connected to them. We begin by helping you feel supported and prepared, and we check in throughout the process.

Our work may focus on feeling more grounded, easing self-blame, rebuilding trust in yourself, or finding more room for connection and everyday life.

Individual sessions are available in person in San Francisco and through telehealth throughout California. Therapy is available in English and Spanish.
